The robustness of Pemex’s safety regime is important not only to employees but also to contractors, farmout partners and communities. This report examines Pemex’s safety and environmental management system that is known as PEMEX - SSPA. The system was devised in 2006 and consolidated two prior systems. The system provides training and a code of conduct for both employees and contractors. Unlike the regular reports that are issued monthly for production and commerce, safety statistics are issued irregularly and inconsistently.
