Oil Agenda for Mexico for 2040

Oil Agenda for Mexico for 2040

Vision of AMEXHI, an Upstream Trade Association

Our new report provides an analysis and critique of the 174-page document prepared by AMEXHI, the association of oil companies in Mexico. Making use of the forecasts of the International Energy Agency in Paris, the document evaluates the impact on the Mexican economy in relation to the continuation of the Energy Model of 2013-14.

Under the scenario of Strict Adherence, by 2040, the Energy Model will add 4% to GDP and, cumulatively, a trillion dollars to the economy. The report cautions against slowing down or abandoning the model. Our critique identifies additional questions and topics for consideration.
